| RCS CLASSIC ESC's ARE DESIGNED FOR INTERMEDIATE OPERATION & FEATURE: |
|
● PLUG'n'PLAY installation for AristoCraft® and Bachmann® locos equipped with PnP sockets. |
Five channels of a 5/6 Channel R/C are required for operation.
WHAT THE TX LEVERS ACTUALLY DO.
The Elevator stick controls Direction set with a press & release for forwards or reverse. Variable momentum control allows precise application of Brake Apply & Brake Release.
The Throttle stick provides digital proportional control of the locomotive speed.
The Aileron stick controls two momentary accessory functions such as Whistle/Horn & Bell.
The Rudder stick with the additional purchase of # 2-M-F can control two accessory functions such as Notch 8/Drift and Dynamic brake/Blowdown etc.
The Ch # 5 switch (or knob) fitted to most 2.4 GHz R/C systems is used for programming various features such as speed calibration, default direction, Momentary or Latching ON - OFF sound triggers, loco speed matching & system re-set.
The Ch # 6 switch (or knob) fitted to some 2.4 GHz R/C systems is spare and could be used to control other accessories such as uncoupling servos & to turn lights ON - OFF etc.

BATTERY VOLTAGE:
All battery packs state a NOMINAL voltage on the pack.
When freshly charged the actual voltage can exceed the NOMINALvoltage.
eg. An 18 volt Ni-Cd pack can read 24 volts when fully charged.
RCS - BELTROL takes into account the excess voltage when batteries are freshly charged when listing what is the maximum voltage you can use.
It is the NOMINALvoltage on the battery pack that is the maximum voltage you can use.
The pcb’s have appropriate heat sinking. A cooling fan may be required for operation at higher voltages & temperatures.
SEE THE ACCESSORIES LIST FOR INFORMATION ON RCS LOCO INSTALLATION KITS & BATTERIES.
PLEASE NOTE.
RCS - BELTROL DOES NOT PROVIDE PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS FOR ESC'S UNLESS SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO DO SO.
PDF instruction booklets are available for the brand of R/C being used & FIVE different sound systems.
BELTROL SIGMA ESC's ARE DESIGNED FOR ADVANCED OPERATION
& ALL FEATURE:
● PLUG'n'PLAY installation for AristoCraft® and Bachmann® locos equipped with PnP sockets.
● NON PLUG'n'PLAY installation with easy to use screw terminals.
● Servo leads not needed. 5/6 x CH RX simply plugs into decoder pcb used by all ESC's.
● Runs on constant track voltage OR battery power OR both. Detailed instructions provided.
● Long range. From 200’ - 500’ with no “glitching” or loss of control functions.
● 256 step 90º direct linear Digital Proportional control of loco speed. 36 clicks on stick.
● Positive selection of Direction with elevator Up-Down stick.
● Automatic “CRUISE CONTROL” Turn OFF TX & loco continues on.
● Speed matching of dissimilar locos. Very easy set up to assist with loco MU’ing.
● MU capable. Simply add as many speed matched locos as you wish to a consist.
● Simulated Brake Release and Brake Application functions. Variable momentum.
● 4 x Momentary or Latch ON - OFF accessory functions for sound triggers etc.
● Simplified programming is accomplished from the TX.
● User applied system reset to default speed matching values.
● Reverse loco default start up direction for back to back locos during MU operation.
● Unlike some other systems, OFF on the throttle stick is OFF. No voltage leakage.
● Directional constant brightness lighting outputs.
